stay cool in the summer

If you're thinking "cool as in temperature cool" you thought wrong. One of the many sacrifices we have to make in fashion and accept, is that fashion is pain, so even if that means sweating though the weather in jeans and a leather jacket, at least you look good while doing it. White denim is a MUST for the summer. I just bought a skinny slightly distressed pair like the one pictured above and I immediately paired it with a plain white t as well as a leather jacket. Was is hot? Absolutely. But well worth the double takes and compliments I received for wearing it. I suggest BLANK NYC for a good white pair of jeans this summer because they are affordable, have supreme quality, and most of all STRETCHY :). Wear it with heels, or some gladiator sandals. Hopefully my next summer purchase will be those Chanel espadrilles she's wearing... stay tuned 

Floral Fun

Florals are a print that some people struggle to wear right. The reason I chose this look is because she manages to pair a a pop of floral, with a plain gray T and distressed shorts is the best best way. This look works so well because she chose a length of short that isn't too short to wear heels with, and the floral blazer plays off of the heels nicely. This look is perfect for lunch with the girls or brunch on a sunday. 

Met. Gala. Perfection.

Kate. Bosworth. MY GOD. I don't know how she always does it right, because she always manages to look effortless and stunning. Of course she's wearing Stella McCartney on top of it so it's easy to look THAT good. This peach color is just perfect for her skin tone, and minimal makeup and accessories made the look truly look effortless. You never seem to do it wrong Kate, hats off to you ! 

Casual Chic

Hello Comfort... I love wearing sweatpants so this recent trend of wearable sweatpants was my ultimate dream come true. Obviously this look needs some amount of effort in order to not make it look like you are not in PJ's, but throw on some fun prints or a stripe, and some cute ballet flats OR converse and you will instantly become casual chic. Some horn rimmed glasses or a pair of aviators wouldn't hurt either ;)

Everyone woman needs a pair of leather skinnies. No matter your shape or size, leather pants are an instant way to feel and look sexy. The picture above shows a more casual way to wear leather skinnies but personally I would do an all black outfit with a pair of D'Orsay flats. *TIP* find a pair with some spandex blended in for maximum all day comfort. 

Overall, it's a good outfit

Normally, I wouldn't push for an outfit that is going to make me look any younger than I already look (I'm 5'1" and look like I'm 12), but I am OBSESSED with the comeback of overalls. Not only are they easy to throw on but they're so cute. The picture shows a plain striped shirt under the overalls which is a casual wear to weat it, but if you were to wear a dark wash full length overall with a leather jacket over and some killer pedro garcia heels, you'd be ready for a night out.

This week I wanted to focus more on the power of accessories  Specifically Clair Vivier. This french designer has such a talent for using leather with vibrant colors like the cobalt above^ and really making an outfit have a presence. If you havent ever seen Claire Vivier's bags, google her NOW, you won't regret it.

In this specific look, she managed to look punky yet elegant which is somewhat a way I would describe my own style. I love her use of multiple prints here as well as the black leather because lets get real everyone needs some black leather in their life. Not only does every woman need a good pair of boyfriend jeans, but also a staple white T, and a leather bomber. Why? Because these 3 items alone will get you 2347827489239 outfits. The look I posted this week was effortless and chic and I love it. Take tips ladies! Also a pop of cheetah never hurt anyone ;)

Naomi Watts. I die.

 

Every year celebrities come together to celebrate the awards they are given at the Oscars. Every celebrity (women mostly) come to the oscars with months of preparation for what their outfits are going to be.  Today I am posting about Naomi Watts' dress at the Oscars tonight. She found a way to make a very understated Calvin Klein dress look SO fabulous, and what you all can't see is the detailing on this. I die. Basically this dress is the chic, trivialized way to say that "I'm the IT girl" without actually saying "I'm the IT girl". The necklace her stylist chose to pair with this dress was also simple, yet magnificent, plus diamonds are a girls best friend! Hats off to you Naomi, you are an australian goddess (as per usual).
